Lucy was Driving is a Finnish rock group playing music that combines powerful melodies and raw energy of rock into a mixture that one sarcastic individual once described as “science-rock for teenagers”. The band is no stranger to sarcasm but knows something about science as well: Otso Koskelo, the lead singer of Lucy was Driving, is filling his free time by finishing his PhD-thesis in physics. This creates a strong background for the bands overall attitude: think for yourself, open your eyes and see the world we live in.
In 2005 Lucy was Driving reached semi-finals in MTV’s international Nordic Unsigned -competition and was later voted as the ‘best unsigned band of 2007′ in the biggest Finnish indie zine Noise.fi. Earlier this year, the band was mentioned by music business experts as one candidate for the ‘next big thing’ in Finland (City.fi 14/2009). So be warned, you’re going to hear a lot more from these guys in the future.
